A Day at Ang Thong National Park

Kayaking through sea-caves, snorkeling in clear blue waters, hiking to a hidden lagoon, relaxing on beaches that are all but cut off to the world. This is a day exploring Ang Thong National Park.

You can only get to Ang Thong through a tour company, so that means practically deserted beaches, full of only one or two small boatloads of people.

No one in sight

Ang Thong National Marine Park is 100 square kilometers encompassing 42 islands in the Sea of Thailand located between Koh Phangan and Koh Samui.

The writer of the novel “The Beach” was so inspired by Ang Thong that he made it the location of the group’s secret camp. Though the films was set on Koh Phi Phi.

How to get to Ang Thong National Park

You can only access the park through a formal tour. Arrange one through your hotel or hostel, or through any travel company. You can even book a tour where you camp overnight out there.
